On top of the greater damage, Griffons has 25% fcr as mentioned, freeing up more slots for +skills or other mods. These are simple calculations, but show how much more effective -res is than another +1 skill. With the -10% res from Griffons, you can think of it as 10% more damage, which would push the Griffons damage up about 2-3k higher than the shako, but in reality it will often be more than 10% when monsters have higher light res as I showed in the calculations. With maxed synergies, 10 gcs and +10 skills elsewhere, the shako will give about 600 more damage. 25% increased damage is equivilant to jsut over +2 lightning mastery. This is discounting the +1 skill from shako, but it only adds 1 to lightning and 1 to mastery for sake of damage output. If the monster had 95% light res, with shako you would deal 1000, and with griffons you would deal 2000. With the light facet shako, the monster goes to -5 light res, and your lightning will deal 10500. Lets say theres a monster with 0% light resist. Lets say, for the sake of simplicity, you have an average lightning damage of 10k. looking at some calculations will show this. The griffons will definately provide more damage output.
